Princess Caily in her new bedroom

Our friends Saila, Mike and Tally dropped off a big bag of dress up clothes,
and this is what she put on herself. For those of you who don't know, Caily
has a real shoe fetish and she is in love with Saila's dress up shoes. It's
been a real struggle to get her to school without them.

Oh - Yes, it's true. We moved. It was a really hard decision and even
harder move, but we are very happy in our new house. It's much safer for an
active toddler and, I must say, much warmer. I'm not used to living in a
"big girl" house yet - but it's coming. Caily weathered the move like a
champ. She loves her new room, big yard and endless beach for her and
Fergus to dig in. She also likes the fact that she can still have her
breakfast with DeeDee (on skype) and watch ducks at the same time.

The same week we moved, she also started school at the Greenwoods Academy in
Kanata. She loved it at first, now I'm not sure she's liking hanging out
with babies all day long. She likes older kids - they are more fun (i.e.
they spoil her more)... Oh well - I'm sure she'll settle in there once they
let her wear her high heels (and baseball hat).

The Carp Fair

This was a real milestone for mommy. How many years have I gone to the fair
and looked longingly at all the parents with their little ones. My heart
was exploding as we walked around together. Caily loved it. She was really
excited to see all the farm animals that she's been learning about. She
even corrected me when I called a rooster a chicken. "no no - cockado not
bock bock"... But again the highlight for her was the pony rides. I
finally dragged her away after 3 turns. A few parents laughed and commented
that I better start saving for her horse. No kidding!!!

She went on the train all by herself (very brave) but cried because the boy
in front of her was wailing. We did the flying elephant, but she got bored
after about 2 spins (and mommy got nauseous - what's that all about???)
Next we headed over to the food and shared a hotdog and fries. We watched
the roller coaster and she really wanted to go but was too little. She
relented when I introduced her to beaver tails - yummy!!! We almost made it
out of the fair but she had to feed the goats again. Then she turned around
and saw the fire-truck (ok, mommy saw the firemen and dragged her over) &
when we got there she wasn't interested in the truck - until, they opened
the driver's side - ah ha, now we're talking. Up she went and proceeded to
smear her beaver tail all over the steering wheel and control panel... Oh
well...

First week of School

Ok, I'm a bad mommy. I didn't get the first day - we had a hard time
getting up that morning. But this is the first week at least. She is a
little "Land's End" model thanks to nana and deedee . Check out the shoes -
these are her favourite.

A big problem with school is that Fergus can't go. They really miss each
other. Their goodbyes and reunions each day are adorable.

Her "new house" present - her TEE-TOT

The day we moved I found this in boomerang kids – thank god!  It’s her favourite toy at nana and deedee’s and it certainly cancelled out any anxiety related to a new house.

The light in our lives

Watching Caily with her nana and deedee is the joy of my life.   The “spark” this angel brings them is amazing.

Can you tell that she is in heaven – walking down the hill with her best buds.   (the light is not photo-shopped – it’s evidence)

Caily and her most favourite lady...

Happy Birthday Nana
