moving hotels

Hi all.  We’re on the move again.   We’ve spent 3 glorious days at the intercontinental hotel in Hanoi’s West Lake district (highly recommended). Tomorrow we are being picked up and driven to Hai Long City where we board a Hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_Ba_Island)

We’ll be staying at the Cat Ba Island Resort and Spa (www.catbaislandresort-spa.com) for the week – so the boys can play tennis (their new fav) and hang on the beach and/or water slides   It’s a family resort so they are all set up for babies too… most of the island is a nature preserve so we hope to do some hiking and cave investigating.  Glad munchkin likes her backpack…

We come back to Hanoi on Friday and are finishing our trip at the Intercontinental.   Caily managed to finagle us the “family suite” for an amazing rate.  It dropped about 50% after the front desk staff played with her for 30 minutes and learned our story.   They want to make her/my final days in Vietnam nice and easy for us… Very kind staff.   The room is really neat.  It has bunk beds and a single in a separate room decorated for kids – a lounge area and a king bed for her majesty – the princess of Gibsonia.

No pictures yet today.  We spent it in the room with Graydon who was getting over an upset tummy from last night.  Caily tried her jolly jumper and really like the swing part (not so much the confined part).  Miranda took Ethan out shopping for his birthday presents.  He came back with an arm load of cool yoyo’s and stuff (can’t tell the details because some are gifts)   I’ll try to get some pictures of the birthday boy at dinner tonight. J

  1. Just wanted to say hi and let you know that I found you through a story in the Ottawa Citizen. I'm glad to have found you too; it looks like such an amazing journey to find a little one overseas. Congratulations! I'm an infertility blogger and we considered adoption at one point. It's still not "off" the table completely, so I'm interested in following along with you as your family grows. Best wishes to you and yours for a joyous Easter and may the rest of your time in Vietnam go perfectly! I'll be reading!
